Barbie look

I did this barbie look out of boredom and because I wanted to use my Coastal Scents 88 shimmer palette that has been sitting in my bathroom drawer. I figured since summer crept upon us that it was only right that i pay homage to it with some bright and funky colors. To start, i used Urban Decay primer potion as the eye base (my ultimate favorite). I then used a mix of a green and yellow from the palette and put it on my lid. In the outer crease, i used Makeup Forever's Matte Eyeshadow #92 in purple. I blended that with the Neon Pink #75 so that you could not see any definitive lines. For my highlight, i used Stila's Smitten shadow as well as the inner corner of the eye. The bottom liner was a color from the 88 palette that i used a mixing medium to make it into a liner. I topped it off with Benefit baby Cakes liner and there you have it...Barbie at its fines!

Benefit Cosmetics Oxygen Wow Review
To start off, first let me tell you that this product is absolutely AMAZING! I am very apprehensive to try new foundations because my skin is very sensitive and will breakout when introducing new products to my face, so naturally, I am a creature of habit. I tried this foundation under my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (a favorite of mine), and I was blown away by how dewy and fresh/natural my face appeared, in addition to having great coverage. It honestly looked like it was my own skin, but just radiant and glowing. Using the primer underneath really helps to allow the foundation to smooth over any sort of lines or imperfections you have; it make a HUGE difference. The consistency threw me off a bit as well because it is somewhat on the thinner side and seems more like a fluid, but don't let that fool you. This is perfect for the daytime where you don't want to wear too much makeup, especially come summertime where it just melts off. You can pick how intense you would like it to be by layering your applications and it covers like a charm. Another good thing about this is that it has SPF in it (which again usually makes me breakout), but this did not irritate my skin whatsoever. I am truly a fan of this item and will use this as my new go-to foundation. I would say this is definitely an item worth trying out for yourself. It does not irritate the skin and provides an amazing coverage while also making you look like you have that natural glow to your skin. XOXO

Alexander Mcqueen death

First off, I would like to say my condolences to the friends and family of Alexander Mcqueen; his suicide was a shock to many, but it is a tremendous loss in the fashion industry. Lady Gaga was one of his many muses and were great friends and had everything going for him to pass at such a young age of 40 years old. Kate Moss, Rihanna, Beyonce, etc. were other of his many muses and it is just so tragic to hear this. To pay homage to such a talented designer/innovater, here are some pics of some of his great masterpieces. Enjoy!!!!

Marc Jacobs Blazer

Check out this Marc Jacobs blazer in the Spring 09 collection; I am so into pastels right now in addition to blazers (put them together and it's a hit). Marc Jacobs is brilliant, being the designer for his own line and the creative director for Louis Vuitton.
If you are interested in the look of the blazer but don't want to fork out that much buck, there are cheaper blazers you can find right now at stores such as: forever21, urban outfitters, wet seal, etc. It is a staple of the winter and every girl should own one in their wardrobe.

Chanel light bulb heels

Chanel is one of my absolute favorite designers; they continue to come up with ingenious creations that i die for. Check out these light bulb heels they thought up in their wondrous little minds.

Fashion Alert: Craig Lawrence!

Craig Lawrence, a fashion-forward British designer, has had his pieces grace the cover of AnOther Magazine on actress Tilda Swinton. His pieces create forms and are so artistic in nature, that many people might not see his vision quite just yet. I absolutely think he is genious and will have much success in the up-coming years. Take a look at some pieces, including getting the fashion "ok" from Lady Gaga (she is wearing his line). Lady Gaga interviews him while wearing one of his pieces....check it out

Kim Kardashian Goth YRB Magazine photoshoot

Kim Kardashian took it in a different route when she did this photoshoot with photographer Mike Ruiz for YRB Magazine. It has a Goth theme and she is very androgynous in it, yet still sexy. Of course, the renound Troy Jensen created this masterpiece on that face of hers; he is AMAZING!! I am really digging all of these photos....good job Kimmy K. My favorite picture is the one in the red dress; it reminds me of the movie The Cell, with Jennifer Lopez in it.

Peace, V

OCC Lip tars

I have some great news to share; I recently purchased these lip tars from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC). I have researched them on youtube to see how other people like them and they are absolutely the best lip product anyone could have. They come in a lip gloss tube but turn out like a lipstick that is VERY pigmented and has the best consistency I have ever experienced in a lip product (that's saying alot lol). A little goes a long way; and when I say that....I MEAN IT. One tiny drop the size of the end of a pencil eraser has the ability to cover your entire lips, it's amazing. I learned about these from Queenofblending on Youtube and I was super excited to get my hands on some!

What I really like about this company is the fact that its products are 100% vegan and creulty-free. The lip tars contain hemp oil, peppermint oil, and vitamin E which are great nutrients for taking care of your lips. The consistency on your lips are not heavy in weight at all, but also not sheer; it is the perfect satin feeling on your lips and has a great taste to them. I honestly see no downside to this product and the best thing is that you can mix the different colors to get an endless amount of lip colors. If you were to get all of the lip tar colors, you would probably never need to buy any lipstick again...you would be set. They are $12.50 each and I dont see any better investment than in these products. The colors I got so far were: grandma, katricia, uber, vintage, NSFW, Melange, safety orange, and pageant. If you purchase the black and/or white lip tars, you can use a dab to darken/lighten any color. Also, the clear lip tar can be worn alone, but the best thing about it is the fact that you can mix it with ANY loose pigment you have and it will turn into a gorgeous lipstick color. 8ty8Beauty Supply

Okay....I am very happy to tell you guys about this site that offers nailpolishes for cheaper prices than any beauty supply store! I'm talking about the good brands: OPI, China Glaze, Orly, etc. I recently ordered some China Glaze nailpolishes from the site and I absolutely LOVE them. I am really into the matte colors right now so I got some cool blues, purples, and oranges. I almost like this brand better than the OPI for some reason. In my past experience, I have had this brand stay on longer than the OPI, and I think it might have something to do with it having nail hardeners in it (so that's great). The colors usually stay on me for two weeks and what I do to keep from chipping is use the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails top-coat every four days or so. This top-coat is AMAZING and is the best one I have yet to come in contact with; plus it was cheap and you can get it at any drugstore.

Anyway, I was really happy about the service of the company and the amount of time that it took to get to me. One thing to note about this place is that once you make your order, you must call them 24 hours later and tell them that you want your order to take priority (it does not cost you anything, it just lets them know to ship yours out sooner because they get a lot of orders in a day). Not only do they have nailpolishes, but they have any kind of nail tool, toe rings, decals, waxes, files, etc. for the beauty buff that wants to get a break in price. Here is the link to the site so you can go check it out: http://www.8ty8beauty.com/

Revelon Colorstay Mineral Mousse: A great buy!

I am not typically the one to go for a drugstore brand, but Revelon has come out with an AMAZING new line called the Colorstay Mineral Mousse. I tried it out and i must say that it is a great buy. The finish of the product makes your skin look very blended and almost satin-like (that sounds kind of wierd, but all i'm trying to say is that it looks amazing on your skin haha). It is great for long days with its longwear application, which is perfect for me because I am going to Vegas on Friday morning and it is HUUUUUMID out there! You do not need a lot of product to cover your face and the consistency is exactly what the bottle says...mousse. I must say that it covers any dark cirlcles that you may have very well in addition to having a satin finish. Mentioning the packaging, I think that it is great for Revelon to put a tamper-evident sticker on the outside of the bottle to make sure that nobody has used it prior.

Now i must say one thing about this product for all the people with dry skin: this product might not be for you because after i applied it to one of my friends that had more dry skin than I, you could see some dry patches in some areas. This product is great for combination/oily skin, especially in the summertime because it stays on all day and there is no need to reapply and have "cakeface." What i recommend if you have dry skin at times and you want to use this product is to make sure and exfoliate well before applying this and you will have a much more smooth finish. Overall, I think that this is one of the best new products out there now and I am sure that Revelon will continue to wow us with their new inventions.
